O.K. so I'm reading the jacquelin Carey series Kushiel's... I just bought Kushiel's Justice and well I like Melisande...so I used this gorgeous stock [link] and made a picture of Melisande with fire in her eyes at the pain her son Imriel is going through. He's going through quiet a great deal of pain in this book. It actually had me in tears. I'm not done yet but I hope to finish soon. Please be nice, I don't do photomanips very often. And I know, this is probably considered out of character for Melisande...

Anyway, critique: I quite like the overall tone of the picture. Serious, slightly vengeful, moody.
Adding the fire to her eyes was a neat effect that came just short of corny or ruining the entire thing...luck you that it didn't come do either.
I think her eyes could have been a tad bit darker and her cheeks are a bit bright with color but other than that, it's a good start at capturing Imri's mother, the great and terrible Bella Donna.
